Despite trailing yesterday, we managed to move ahead of the Fungoes on Sunday for a convincing 9-1 victory.  It was nice to grab victory from the jaws of defeat for a change...

Losing...

12:38 on Saturday afternoon, and the Big Pink Machine (thanks mostly to an 0-10 day at the plate so far) are now tied with the Fungoes and the Fungoes have the batting average tiebreaker in their favor...

Oh yeah, that third baseman of ours that was day-to-day with back spasms?  He's now on the 15 day disabled list with no one really worth picking up to replace him...

We're Ahead!

We're ahead of the Fungoes going into Friday's games.  But it's interesting to note that our third baseman is day-to-day with back spasms and 4 other players have the dreaded blue sheet next to their names on the Flemingo roster.  The blue sheet denotes "cold player"...

The hitters are pretty straight forward.  The pitchers, maybe not so much.  I wouldn't mind having Cingrani as a pitcher (probably replacing Hellickson from that list) and we'll see if Wheeler and Cole actually get called up.  Wheeler looks pretty sure - Cole, not so much.

The Flemingos again managed to grab defeat from the jaws of victory on Sunday.  We went into the day leading, came out losing...

The Big Pink Machine managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory again this week as arch rival Sun's pitcher Ryu got two strikeouts...

We have now gone once around the other teams in SLUBA and lost to each of them.  Now we start the tour again...  Next up - the arch rival Salsa Sharks!

Still Leading! But Not For Long...

Well, it's 4:35 and the Flemings lead the arch rival Suns by 5.5-4.5.  It wasn't a good day for the Big Pink Machine.  We managed to hit .088 with no home runs, no runs scored, no RBIs, and 2 meaningless stolen bases...

If Sun pitcher Ryu gets just one strikeout, then he'll be ahead.  But I do have Buster Posey playing in that same game and if he can get two RBIs or 3 runs scored - then I'll win...

Bigger Lead!

This morning the Flemingos lead 6.5-3.5.  But, unfortunately, I see that the arch rival Suns have Ryu pitching for them today.  And since our lead is based on pitching stats, it could be a problem...

Amazingly, at 7:54pm on Saturday night, the Big Pink Machine leads our arch-rival Suns by a score of 5.5-4.5!!!!

We're ahead in HR (9-8), RBI (23-22), SB (4-1), WHIP (1.325-1.339), and Wins (3-2) and we're tied in strikeouts (36-36).  If only the week ended today!

It'll be a sleepless night for all Flemingo Fans with a win so close!
